MUNNAR:- KASHMIR OF THE SOUTH

 

Munnar is a town nestled between the Western Ghats in the Indian state of Kerala. Situated between rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the 19th century, Munnar gives of a aura of serenity and calm that attracts tourists from all around India. Located at the confluence of three mountain rivers -Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala, Munnar is also a sought out place for newly-weds.


The Eravikulam national park, home to many endangered animals is a fascinating place to visit. Apart from this, the serene hills, tea plantations and the mountain rivers flowing through Munnar make the place look ethereal. Munnar is also home to the Tea museum, a museum tracing the production of tea with old machinery, photographs and demonstrations. Munnar's climate is typical of  a hill station in the western ghats, making it a ideal place for a vacation.
